Studies on Safety and Sterilization method of Infusion Set

Abstract
The safety of infusion set were studied in this paper, and the sterilization methods of the set were discussed.
Samples studies in this paper were from domestic markets.
The standdards and test methods were followed by the J.p. VIII and U.S.p. XVIII.
According to the results, the following were concluded:
1. The safety strilization methods of infusion set were studied and discussed.
2. Five domestic samples of the set were examined chemically, physically, and biologically by the standards and methods of J.p. VIII and U.S.p. XVIII.
3. The samples studied in this paper were sterilized by steam autoclave method.
4. The results tested were showed within the range of standards. However, the results of chemical tests were relatively high though the results were within the range. This could be estimated that the selection of the sets should be considered more significantly.
5. Due to the finacial difficulties, the Ethylene Oxide sterilization method could not be studied this time. Considering the low temperature of sterilization by this method for the plastic preparations might be significant advantage. It is recommended that the Ethylene Oxide sterilization mettled should be studied providing the necessary materials and equipment in future.
